Quick Reaction is a simple test of pure visual reaction time: wait while the box is red, tap as soon as it turns green. The waiting phase actually trains holding back an impulse (not acting too early), while the fast tap at the moment it turns green trains raw visual-motor reflexes. The waiting time changes at random (between 0.9 and 3 seconds), so the child cannot settle into a rhythm and tap automatically, and has to stay truly alert every round. Showing the average of five rounds in milliseconds gives a concrete, measurable sign of progress instead of a vague feeling of having played well.
