The repeating unit (cycle) in the emoji sequence grows from two to five items as the rounds go on, so short-term visual memory is challenged more and more. Instead of memorising the order, the child learns to reach the answer by working out the logic of the pattern — a different kind of thinking from simple memorisation. A streak (combo) badge appears when correct answers come one after another, rewarding sustained attention in a concrete way. Counting from the start of the sequence to see where the repetition begins is the most useful strategy.
